Grampa's Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Recipe

                                                          Cooking time = 8 minutes                                                              

Makes 4 dozen


                                                                3/4 Cups butter, softened                                                               

1/2 Cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 Cup granulated sugar
                                                                                  1 egg                                                                                     

2 teaspoons vanilla


3/4 Cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking Soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

                                            3 Cups old fashioned oatmeal, not cooked                                            

1 Cup raisins 

Cooking Instructions 

1-Heat oven to 350°F. 

2-In large bowl, beat butter and sugars on medium speed of electric mixer until creamy. 

3-Add egg and vanilla; beat well. 

4-Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well. 

5-Add oats and raisins; mix well. 



Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. 

Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack.

Cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container.
